Darren Benger is a graduate of the University of Adelaide with two degrees in Architecture in 1992 and 1995. He has been registered with the Board of Architects, Singapore, since 2001.

Darren joined ATA Architects Pte Ltd (formerly known as Andrew Tan Architects) in 1996 and became a Director in 2006.

Strongly dedicated to systems and methodologies in Architectural practice, Darren’s forte is in ensuring projects are well-organised and positioned for completion in accordance with contractual obligations. Aside from overseeing various new developments, he has also been keenly involved in complex additions & alterations projects such as residential upgrading programs, retrofitting of institutional buildings, and extensions of places of worship and schools, as well as industrial buildings.

Darren is also the Company’s Management Representative overseeing ATA’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and is currently developing management systems in ‘social responsibility’ and ‘information security.’

This dedication has seen Darren be accredited as a trainer for the Design-for-Safety Coordinator course, and he is a prominent player in the development of design-for safety in the Singapore construction environment.

In tandem with architecture, Darren has a keen interest in construction law, leading to extensive involvement in organisations and matters involving building contracts and dispute resolution. Darren has obtained the Graduate Certificate in International Arbitration from NUS in 2008.

Darren also prides himself in taking a diligent, yet creative, approach to statutory compliance of building developments. Aside from practicing as an Architectural Qualified Person (QP), Darren is also accredited by SCDF as a Registered Inspector for fire safety works.
